He was the education policy advisor for former Governor John Engler, and the special advisor for the Michigan Department of Career Development. He was the executive director of the Indiana Human Resource Investment Council and the executive director of the Indiana Council on Vocational Education. He was a business development specialist with Indiana Department of Commerce, and the former production assistant and sales manager with family emulsified asphalt materials company. He was the Saginaw County Commissioner from 2010-2012. He was a chair on the Saginaw County Republican Party and a trustee for the Saginaw Area Catholic Schools, St. Mary's of Michigan Advisory Board, and Saginaw Field and Stream.
