He moved with his parents, to Batavia, NY in 1810. As a soldier , he fought in the battles of Chippewa and Lundy's Lane during the War of 1812. He settled in Jackson County, MI in 1837. He held various local offices, including supervisor [1843 and 1844] justice of the peace in Jackson in 1850. He was living in Jackson in 1850 and in Blackman, MI in 1860.
