Biographical Sketch:
He lived in Chelsea, MA for a time. He moved to Michigan in 1832 and settled in Sylvan. He built the first residence in city of Chelsea, MI (1849) and gave it its name. He held many local offices; he was the first township clerk for Sylvan township (1853) and first president of the village of Chelsea; postmaster for 8 years.
