He was a native of Aurelius, Cayuga Co., NY. He came to Michigan in 1837 and settled in Livingston Co., MI moving to Flint in 1842, and in about 1870 to Fenton. He served as prosecuting attorney and county clrk in 1846. He operated the Thread Grist-Mill for 20 years.
