Biographical Sketch:
Of Welsh and German descent. Son of Ebenezer and Phebe B. (Burhans or Burhauze) Davis. He moved to Tuscola Co., MI with his parents in 1836. In 1844, he moved to Grand Blanc. He enlisted in the infantry of the 15th US Regiment, Company A, to fight in the war with Mexico in 1847. He served for 18 months and was severely woundedin the right knee at Churrubusco. For a time he sought gold in the Califonia gold rush. He returned to Grand Blanc and served as justice of the peace for many years. Member of the Masons

His family was the 2nd family to settle in Tuscola township.
