Biographical Sketch:
Son of Ebenezer and Polly (Simmons) Gould. After leaving school, entered as a law student the office of William H. Seward, the great War Secretary, and as a law clerk for before he was admitted to the bar. He practiced with partner, George Rathburn He was appointed master of chancery, and as injunction master of the 7th judicial circuit. He moved to Owosso, MI, in 1843. He served as supervisor for Owosso township from 1844-50; as prosecuting attorney, as probate judge in the fall of 1844. He retired from the law in 1865 to attend to his extensive property interests.
