Biographical Sketch:
Son of Thomas and Ann Jane (Alexander) Phillips. Worked in saw mills and on the railroad until 32 years of age. He then operated a farm in Deerfield township. He served as highway commissioner, treasurer, and supervisor of the same township, and for years was connected with the Park Hotel at Mt. Pleasant. During the World War, he served with Company No. 64 of the state militia.
