He enlisted for the War of 1812 on 5/9/1812 and was discharged 5/16/1813. He served with Elias Hull's Co. of NY Militia. He served as justice of the peace, 1840; sheriff in 1845. In 1850 he was living at the Bois Blanc Lighthouse in Michigan.
