Biographical Sketch:
Son of Peter and Francis (Bement of Burnham) Reed. He was apprenticed to the printer's trade in the office of the Grand Ledge Independent. In 1914, he moved to Clio, MI, and bought the Clio Messenger newspaper. He was connected with the printing and publishing business in Michigan for many years, retiring in 1927. He served as president of the Clio State Bank. He was clerk of the Genesee County draft board during World War I and was also clerk of Vienna Township for 6 consecutive terms. He was personal secretary to Governor Fitzgerald, 1935-36. Member of the Masons; the Eastern Star; and the Vienna Garden Club.
