Biographical Sketch:
Son of Lindsey and Mary [Polly] (Waite) Joslyn. He taught school for 5 years before studying law. He moved to Ypsilanti in 1837 and entered the office of Walter A. Buckbee for 1 year before studying law with Marcus Lane. Admitted to the bar in May, 1839. He became Ypsilanti supervisor, 1843; became justice of the peace, 1846, reelected 1850. He was a member of the state board of education, 1851-55, and served as probate judge in Washtenaw Co. in 1852. He was appointed a commissioner to construct the St. Mary's falls ship canal in 1853; was elected mayor of Ypsilanti in 1858 and 22nd Circuit Court Judge, 1881-87; elected mayor of Ypsilanti , 1858-59. He was on the school board for 20 years, resigning in 1870. Member of the Odd Fellows
