Biographical Sketch:
He came to Detroit and was admitted to the bar November 1836. After serving in the Senate, he was prosecuting attorney from 1846-49 while acting as supreme court clerk in 1846 and master in chancery 1846-47; Michigan state attorney general, 1851-54. He served as alderman in Detroit in 1959 and 1860. In 1857, he purchased the National hotel of Crane and Wesson; it became known as the Russell. Hale moved to San Francisco, CA in 1862 and died there in 1874.
