Biographical Sketch:
He established himself as doctor in Algonac in 1819, soon after finishing medical school. In 1845, he built a sawmill at the mouth of the Pine River in St. Clair which was sold in 1852. He served as county clerk, 1827; sheriff of the county, 1835; supervisor of the township for 15 years at intervals between 1842 and 1863; he was the first mayor of St. Clair.
