He was a member of an old Detroit French family [per his death notice]. He was living in Hamtramck in 1870. He served as judge of probate for 1 term [1864-68]; on the board of supervisors for Hamtramck and supervisor of Grosse Pointe Township. He moved to Windsor in about 1880 to start the CMBA monthly (later it moved to Detroit and was a weekly). he was living in Essex Co., Ontarion in 1881.
