Biographical Sketch:
At 21, he emigrated to America, coming to Detroit, MI, 11/2/1873. While in Detroit, he attended nights schools during the years 1876-7, and in 187S settled in Delaware Township, Sanilac County. He con- verted a wild piece of land into a nice farm. He served as Delaware Township Treasurer, 1865 and 1866. In 1888, he was elected Supervisor of said township and held this office for 11 successive years. In 1894 he was elected chairman of the Board of Supervisors of Sanilac County; was appointed US Census Enumerator in 1900, and also acted in that capacity at the last State census.
