Biographical Sketch:
In 1901 he enter the emplooyment of the Pere Marquette Ry Co. in station tower and communications service. He was given a leave of absence June 1, 1918, to enable him to devote his afforts in the intrest of his fellow employes as general chairman of the Order of Railroad Telegraphers, having been elected to the general committee for twenty-six years. For ten years he has been elected chairman of the Mid-West General Chairman and Secretaries Association representing 30,000 railroad employes in central United States. Has been elected member of a school board, township treasurer and eight years alderman at Central Lake and Ann Arbor. He was a member of the Washtenaw county re-employment commission and president of the Michigan section of the Public Ownership League of America. For five years he was elected representative to the American Federation of Labor. He was a member of the Maccabees, past master F. & A. M., past patron O. E. S., Grotto, Royal Arch, Dewitt Clinton Consistory, Saladin Temple Mystic Shrine, Loyal Order of Moose, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Ann Arbor Grange, Kiwanis and honorary member Ann Arbor Trades Council.
