Biographical Sketch:
Son of Christopher and Mary (Fredericks) Wagner. In 1906, he went to Mount Clemens to join the baseball team which at that time was a member of the Southern Michigan League. For 9 years he was employed as an auditor by the Mount Clemans Sugar Company. Was connected with The Good Housekeeping Shop of Detroit, having charge of their office for more than 2 years. Subsequently, he was manager of their branch store at Pontiac for 6 years at the end of which time he took over their Mount Clemens branch which he operated as the Wagner Electric Shop. He served as mayor of Mt. Clemens (1944-50), county clerk (4 terms starting in 1950) and March of Dimes chairman. He became secretary for public utilities in Mount Clemens in 1937. He was working for the State Racing Commission from at least 1942-44. member of the Knights of Columbus and the Old Crowd.
