Biographical Sketch:
He was a member, elder, and previous Director of Youth Ministries at Covenant Christian Reformed church from 1989-1996. He spent five years in the computer industry. He was a missionary in the Appalachian Mountains in Kentucky addressing social, health, and housing needs from 1984-1987. He was elected Gaines Township Clerk in 1992. He was the Kent County Road Commissioner from 2005-2006. He was Director of Special Initiatives for Habitat for Humanity of Michigan from 2003-2006. He was previously on the board of directors for Michigan Youth in Government and was the vice president of the Cutlerville Christian School Board. He was on the Wedgwood Christian Services Advancement Advisory Council and the Board of Directors for the Chairman's Leadership Forum. He was a part of the Bowhay Institute for Legislative Development and the Steering Committee of the Midwestern Legislative Conference of the Council of State Governments.
