Biographical Sketch:
She taught in the Saugatuck-Douglas schools and Ottawa County Head Start. She was a member of the Saugatuck Township Park and Recreation Commission from 1972-80. Allegan County Treasurer, 1992-96; district staff assistant to US Congressman Fred Upton 1990-92; Saugatuck Township Treasurer, 1982-92; Saugatuck Twp Trustee, 1980-82; Child Development Services, Ottawa Co. Head Start; Gubernatorial appointee; Michigan State Parks Advisory Board, chair 1996, member 1989-97; Rookie of the Year, Michigan Manufacturers Assoc., 1997; Distinguished Achievement Award, Michigan Municipal League, 1998; Business Direct Weekly's Most Influential Women Award, 1999; House Republican Policy Committee vice chair, 1997. Gov. Rick Snyder appointed her director of the Office of the Great Lakes and Great Lakes Commission representative. She served as president of the Allegan Rotary Club and the Friends of the Saugatuck Dunes State Park. Member of many other organizations.
