Biographical Sketch:
Son of James & Ester (Demary or Demeray) Pearson. Of English descent. Moved to Oakland Co., MI, 1870. Went to Chandler twp., Charlevoix Co., MI at age 24, around 1881; taught school for 3 yrs. Interested in farming and lumbering; maintained potato warehouses in Boyne Falls. He served as sheriff and register of deeds. Held several local offices, including supervisor of Chandler Township.. He worked as a travelling salesman, selling farm implements; Opened a lumber mill, 1896. He was on the Boyne Falls board of trade in 1909. President of the Northern Brick Co. Member of the Masons; Odd Fellows; Maccabees.

Notable Facts:
Served in both chambers. Credited with being the founder of the Michigan Department of Conservation.
