Biographical Sketch:
He apprenticed as an ironmolder with J.B. Wilson and traveled as a journeyman for about 3 years before working for Detroit Stove works. He retired, after 38 years, from there in 1904 as superintendent of the plant, a post he had held since 1892.

Collapsed and died in the Capitol Bldg. DFP 2/26/1913, gives birth date as 4/30/1815? DFP 3/1/1913, gives birth date as 4/20/1846 in Oberbalhem, Germany Known as "Uncle Joe" According to Senate Resolution No. 55 1913 Senate Journal p. 529 he had died. Rripr record indicated he had died 2/25/1913. PolGryd & 1913 Manual also gives dod as 2/25/1913.
