Biographical Sketch:
Son of John and ? (Hamitt). Moved to a farm in Tompkins Township, Jackson Co. MI in March, 1868. He served 3 consecutive terms as justice of the peace. In 1886, he moved to the city of Jackson where he served as justice of the peace for terms beginning 1896 and 1904. In the years 1894-95 he also served as supervisor of the first ward.
