Son of Thomas Bell and Mary Gertrude (Smith) Woodworth. Served as internal revenue collector in Detroit, appointed in 1921-1933. In 1927 he was State Food and Dairy Commissioner, later becoming Agricultural Commissioner. He was State Welfare Director in 1935 and 1936.In 1942 he left his farm in Pinckney, MI to aid the war effort by working at Douglas Aircraft Corp., in Los Angeles, CA. Member of the MAsons
