Biographical Sketch:
Son of Moses and Mary (Westover) Hall. Hhe enlisted in the army 1/17/1862 Promoted to Full Captain on 9/17/1862; commissioned an officer in Company D, Michigan 13th Infantry Regiment on 17 Jan 1862; mustered out on 1/16/1865 at Savannah, GA.P romoted to Full Lt Colonel on 4/11/1865. With his brother Charles, he became the leading contractor in masonry in Battle Creek and vicinity. He served as Aaderman in the city council and as mayor.

Notable Facts:
He was the first white child born in Battle Creek.
