Biographical Sketch:
Began his coaching career in 1963 at Eastern Michigan University as an ends coach. In 1964, he became the athletic director at Michigan Technological University. He was an assistant football coach at University of Michigan from 1965-73; head coach of the Eastern Michigan University Eagles [then the Hurons] football team, 1974-75. He served as mayor of Trenton, 1983-89, Trenton School Board of Education, 1976-83. He also served as City Administrator of Southgate and had various positions in the municipal government of Flat Rock, such as city administrator, city clerk and economic development director. He served on the board of directors of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge.

Notable Facts:
Captain of the University of Michigan football team 1961. Signed with the St. Louis Cardinals to play professional football in 1962 but never played professionally. He had non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and melanoma.
