He served as treasurer and director of Kelsey Hayes Credit Union, 1940-1943; member of the Wayne County Board of Supervisors, 1946-1953; assistant sergeant of arms in the state capitol; member of the State Central Committee; employed as a UAW-CIO representative. Member of the Knights of Columbus, the Roman Catholic Union and the UAW.
