He served as treasurer, supervisor and on road ciommission of his county; a former bank director and secretary-treasurer of the Greenville Cooperative Association; farmer for 40 years; was in the real estate and insurance business; member of F. & A.M. [Masons], O.E.S., Holy City Shrine and D.B.S. Lodges, Farm Bureau anf lions Club, past president.
