Biographical Sketch:
Of Irish and English descent. Upon completing his schooling, he entered the electrical department of the Carnegie Steel Works in Homestead. Later in connection with this work, he had headquarters at Chicago, IL, and, while living there, bought a farm near Spring Lake, MI, as a summer home. Later he made the farm his permanent home. After moving to Michigan, he was active in the good roads movement and served as director of the West Michigan Pike Association and the Michigan Good Roads Association He was secretary of the Michigan Road Commissioners' Association and the Grand Highway Association.
