Biographical Sketch:
English and Irish ancestry. Son of Barney and Theresa (Langdon) Davis. He taught for 4 years in Jackson County; moved to Chicago and worked for the Anchor Line Transportation company for 17 years, last 10 years as general superintendent; 1908 resigned and bought a farm in Lawton, MI. He was vice-president of the Wolverine Fruit Association, of Paw Paw. He served as chairman of the county committee, and for 10 years was one of the speakers for the state central committee.

Notable Facts:
Manual gives birth year as 1868; obit says he would have been 100 years old the year of his death, 1963. Ages in early censuses jibe with 1868.
