Biographical Sketch:
Son of Lester and Mary A. (Preston) Hobart. He moved to Michigan at age 19. He workedfor his uncle in the Old David Preston Bank, Detroit for 6 years. He moved to Holly in 1865 and engaged in mercantile pursuits. He was appointed postmaster of Holly in 1869 and remained so through March 1887. He served as agent and manager of the Holly Express office for many years, beginning in 1866. He was on the Holly Board of Education and the board of supervisors ; president of the village.
