Biographical Sketch:
Lineal descendant of Elder William Brewster of the Mayflower. His childhood was spent in different parts of NY until 1837 when he moved to Medina MI. Later he resided in Hillsdale Co. and Detroit, moving to Hudson in 1870 where he resided until his death. A scholarly man and constant reader who left school at age 14 due to ill health. Served as Clerk of Hillsdale Co., Deputy Internal Revenue Collector at Detroit for three years and for a long time Recorder of Hudson. He was tolerant of opinions other than his own and a consistent Christian.
