Biographical Sketch:
Of Scottish descent. Son of George and Janet (Andrews) Malcolm. He enlisted in Co. A, 22d Michigan Infantry, 8/11/1862. He was wounded and captured at the battle of Chickamauga, 9/20/1863, and held prisoner for 15 months. He was returned to the Regiment on November 5, 1863. Promoted to Sergeant on June 6, 1865. After his discharge in 1865, he began farming. He served as township clerk and supervisor for several terms. His final occupation was as an insurance salesman
