Biographical Sketch:
Son of James and Catherine Markey. He taught for several years after finishing high school. In 1879, he moved to Ann Arbor, working as a bookkeeper for a manufacturer while studying law. he was admitted to the bar in April 1881. In September, he moved to West Branch, MI to practice law. He was apponted ciruit court commissioner in 1881 and elected to the same position in 1882. In 1883, he was appointed probate judge. He was living in Detroit in 1910, in San Francisco in 1930 and Highland Park, MI in 1940. Member of the Maccabees.
