Biographical Sketch:
Son of John and Bridget (Welsh) O'Keefe. In 1868, he moved to Michigan, worked on his father's farm, taught several years in Carsonville; was superintendent of schools in Delaware Township, Sanilac Co., and for years station agent and telegraph operator at Minden for the P.H & N.W. Railway. He was a resident of Port Huron for several years, serving as their superintendent of public works for many years. He also engaged in law, loan and insurance business. He served as city clerk for Minden. In 1887, he moved to Carsonville, transferring his business interests there. He was sergeant-of-arms for the senate for 2 terms; and worked with the state highway department from 1914-34. Member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society at St. Mary's Cathedral in Lansing.
