Biographical Sketch:
Son of George W. and Fannie (Canfield or Caufield) Rumsey. He taught winters from 1857-62. He moved to Illinois in 1862, involved in business in Chicago until 1867 when he moved to Leslie, MI where he was involved in farming, lumbering, real estate and banking. He served on the village council and school board. he was president of First National Bank of Leslie in 1883.
