Biographical Sketch:
Son of Dr. Nathan and Irene (Tompkins) Town. Moved to Michigan in 1838. He studied medicine under Dr. H. Powers in Rollin, MI. After receiving his medical degree he practiced in Rollin. He was appointed postmaster of Geneva in 1854 and served for 17 years and held other local offices. he was school director for 7 years
