Biographical Sketch:
Eldest child. Father died when Henry was 9. Family emigrated to Oakfield, MI, 1850. Henry struck out on his own at 14 eventually getting a job as a sawyer until 7/1857. Bought property in Oakfield, fall of 1857. Continued in the lumber business, buying the Underhill Mill & a lumber yard in Brighton. He served as justice of the peace,15 years, township clerk, 2 years, was a school officer 20 years.
