Son of Zachariah and Emeline Brock. Early life spent in NY and PA. Came to MI in 1856 and remained in Oakland Co. until October, 1865 when he moved to Bay Co. Was elected Alderman of what was Lake City (afterwards Wenona, per MIBiog "now" West Bay City) and held that office 4 years, manager of West Bay City Manufacturing Co. Supervisor from 1871-74; sheriff of Bay County for 4 years; treasurer of the Township of Monitor in 1885.
