Biographical Sketch:
Son of Anders Anderson and Annie (Johnson or Jonson) Kallander. He arrived in the US in 1872, living in Eau Claire, WI until July 1885 when he moved to Bessemer, MI. Naturalized in 1874. He was a railroad and timber contractor, but ran a boarding house in Bessemer. He served as township trustee, school inspector and treasurer, elected village president of Bessemet and, in 1894, county sheriff. Member of the Masons and Odd Fellows.

Notable Facts:
He was nominated by the Labor Party and then endorsed by the Democrats. As justice of the peace, he married the first couple in Bessemer township. Died of acute peritonitis
