Son of Anders Anderson and Annie (Johnson or Jonson) Kallander. He arrived in the US in 1872, living in Eau Claire, WI until July 1885 when he moved to Bessemer, MI. He was a railroad and timber contractor, but ran a boarding house in Bessemer. He served as county treasurer
