Biographical Sketch:
Son of John and Mary (Walsh) Killean. He lived in the towns of Hamburg and Evans, NY until 1863. He worked in the lumber business until moving to Grand Rapids, MI, in about 1864, where he worked in the hub factory of Turnham and Budington. He also worked at the spoke factory of Orris Bonney, until 1867, when he entered the grocery business. He was elected alderman of Grand Rapids twice, president of the common council 3 times and was a member of the police and fire commission.
Notable Facts:
Died from heart disease.
Elected to the Legislature on the Fusion ticket in 1887.
