Biographical Sketch:
Of Scottish ancestry. Son of Henry and Mary (Woodrow) Robinson. In April, 1849, he immigrated to the United States and was employed in Stack & Patterson's shipyard in Williamsburg, NY, and in June of that year, moved to Oakland County, MI. There, he worked on a farm until November of that year. He then moved to Saginaw County and entered the employ of James Fraser in the lumber business, continuing there until 1852. Subsequently went to Muskegon and was employed as a sawyer and log scaler until 1857. After 1857 he was a farmer. He served in the office of supervisor; chairman of the board12 years; township clerk 5 years; treasurer; school inspector 4 years and justice of the peace 1 year.
