Member of UAW Local 651; Michigan Democratic Party; Genesee County Democratic Party; Burton Democratic Club; Third District Democratic Club; Hundred Club of Flint; Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; Women Legislators' Lobby. She served on the Burton City Council. In addition, she has also served as mayor of Burton. In 2010, she ran for 26th District State Senator, but was unsuccessful. She was re-elected mayor after leaving the legislature.
