Biographical Sketch:
Moved to Detroit with has family in 1815. Lived in Silver Lake from 1819-1827. In 1827 engaged in the fur trade at Saginaw as agent for the American Fur Company. In 1852, he built a saw mill that operated until 1874 when it burned. He could speak a native American language. He served as Commissioner of Internal Improvements, county judge and treasurer.
Notable Facts:
First mayor of Saginaw City, 1857. Died while serving as mayor.
