Came to America with his parents in 1851 and remained in the state of NY two years. His parents moved to Lenawee Co. MI in 1853 and in 1867 he bought a farm in Sheridan, Calhoun Co. MI. His first vote was cast for Abraham Lincoln. Held offices of Township Clerk, Justice of the Peace and Supervisor.
