Biographical Sketch:
Son of Samuel and Jane (Kyle) Boyd. Came to America with his parents in 1851 and remained in the state of New York for 2 years. His parents moved to Lenawee Co., MI in 1853 and in 1867 he bought a farm in Sheridan, Calhoun Co. MI. His first vote was cast for Abraham Lincoln. Held offices of township clerk, justice of the peace and supervisor.

Notable Facts:
He voted the republican ticket until 1896 , when he joined the D. P. U. S. party.
