Biographical Sketch:
Son of Rubin K. and Eliza (Lindall) Hardy. He came to Michigan with his parents in 1860, settling on a farm near the Agricultural College. He taught school for 14 years and became a member of the board of school examiners for 6 years, the last 2 as superintendent. He served as register of deeds for 4 years. In 1888, he moved to Lansing and engaged in real estate business. He served on the city school board there for 4 years.

Died as a result of an accidental fall from a ladder while picking pears.
