Biographical Sketch:
When about seven years old he moved from Ohio to Michigan with his parents, Warren T. and Margaret Ann (Hurd) Lafler. In 1861, he enlisted in the 7th Mich. Infantry. He was wounded twice at the Battle of Spotsylvania Court House. He held various offices in his township.

Notable Facts:
He was present at the surrender of General Robert E. Lee. May have died in California in 1911.
