    Son of Aldis L. and Ann E. (Bellward) Rich. On his return from school in Chicago, he taught for 4 years.  In 1890, he settled on the farm.  Member of the Patrons of Husbandry; helped to organize the Grangers' Mutual Insurance Company and served as its secretary and treasurer. By 1920, he was living in Pondera, MT, operating a grain farm.
