Biographical Sketch:
Son of Nelson and Mary (McColl) Sharpe. He taught school 3 years before he came to Michigan in 1881. He was located in West Branch, where he was principal of schools for 5 years and a member of the board of school examiners. He held the offices of county commissioner and superintendent of the poor. In 1884, he purchased the West Branch Times, which he successfully conducted for 5 years. In 1889, he moved to East Tawas and in 1894, was elected prosecuting attorney of Iosco County and re-elected again in 1896 and 1898.

Notable Facts:
Brother of Michigan Chief Justice Nelson Sharpe. Died of senility and heart failure. He appears in the Census of Sault Ste. Marie in 1900 and 1910, although he represented Iosco, Alcona, Roscommon and Ogemaw Counties in 1901.
