Biographical Sketch:
Son of Edward and Camelia [or Pamela] Jeannette (Tremain) Brockway. He lived at Brockway and Port Huron until age 13, then went to Au Sable and Oscoda and tallied and inspected lumber during the summer months, attending school winters. He was admitted to the bar in 1895, practiced separately until 1899 when he formed partnership, Hall and Brockway, with Hon. Devere Hall of Bay City. He held the office of Circuit Court Commissioner from 1898-1902. He was in active service with the 33rd. MI Vol. Infantry during the Santiago campaign achieving the rank of corporal. In 1901 and 1902 was Assistant Adjutant General of the Spanish War Veterans in the US and held other high offices for the veterans.

Notable Facts:
Favored direct nomination for governor & lt. governor. Death record gives birth dates as Nov. 28, 1905 Manual says 30th.
