Biographical Sketch:
Of Scotch-Irish descent. Son of Duncan and Isabella (McGuken) McRae. He fought in the Spanish-American war with Company E, 35th Michigan Volunteer Infantry. For 6 years he was in the mercantile business, and for 15 years was in the lumbering business. He served as school director, township treasurer and supervisor and for ten years as postmaster of Greenbush. Member of Scottish Rite Masons; Order of the Eastern Star; Gleaners; and Grange.
