Biographical Sketch:
He worked in a glass factory as a boy. He had charge of a gang of men in building the Erie Canal for 3 years. He settled in Southfield, MI, 1825 and moved to a farm in Livonia in 1831. He served as postmaster; justice [12 years]; deputy sheriff; and coroner. He was president of the Wayne County Democratic club
Notable Facts:
Born in New York State. He and Benjamin Walker Grace stopped an annexation of part of Farmington township to Wayne County in the 1840’s. Death date varies: April 1, 4 and 14 in 1874.
